When coming and going from your fitness club or gym you need to take certain precautions for your safety and security. A gym is a public place, and while it may be a familiar environment you should still remain on your guard. Here are a few tips that should keep you safe at the gym:

Do not bring your purse or wallet or large amounts of cash into the gym

Carry only your workout bag and ID

If you must bring your valuables with you, put them in the trunk of your car before arriving at the gym–never while you are in the gym’s parking lot.

Do not leave your keys laying around while you work out

Do not leave any valuables in your car where they can be seen from the outside

Do not leave the gym alone at night to walk to your car

Familiarize yourself with the locations for the emergency exits. If an alarm should go off, you should know how to make your way to the closest exit.
