You would be surprised at how fast time goes by and how many calories you burn while doing this. You will be so engrossed in your TV shows that you won’t even realize that you are walking so much. The treadmill is an excellent exercise when it is cold outside.

Do not disregard any chance to walk a little more. For example, you could walk up stairs instead of riding on the elevator if you go to work or the library. You could also park a farther distance away instead of finding the nearest parking spot. There are all kinds of opportunities in your daily life to walk more.

Give yourself rewards for any milestones you reach. For instance, if you lose 10 pounds, treat yourself to dinner and a movie. You could also buy a small item that you’ve been wanting. It is fine to occasionally give yourself rewards in the form of food, but you should not use food as your main reward because that could get yourself in trouble.

Try dressing in layers when it is a nice, but cold day. That way, you can go outside and exercise without freezing. Use earmuffs and mittens to cover your ears and hands. In addition, make sure you have on several pairs of socks so that your feet won’t get cold. A lot of heat comes out of your feet, and if they are cold, then your entire body will likely become cold.
